Relay for life.

I know everyone out there has heard of the American Cancer Relay for life. This relay is held every year in just about every town. Have you ever been a part of one? I have and the experience that you get out of it is with you forever. It is a very humbling time and also a time of celebration. Not only do all these teams that walk for 12 hours to raise money for the American Cancer society, that also honor the people who have survived cancer. So I would like to encourage everyone if you can't participate on a team, try to go by and watch the opening ceremony. If you know someone who is a survivor or who lost the battle you will be touched.

Talk Shows

Who out there watch's talk shows? A new show started this year and I was like another talk show, however I watched it one day and I was hooked. The name of the show is Wendy Williams. If you haven't seen it, give it a try. She is real and down to earth. I would take her show over oprah's show. Wendy reminds me of someone who you went to school with. Try watching it and tell me what you think.

Hampton Inn update

Here's my update from my recent stay at the Hampton Inn. I did hear back from them. They did refund my money and the manager sent me an email telling me how safe conscious they are, that they were sorry that the hair dryer just happened to arc when I turned it on. After that I received a email from the Hilton corp. telling me how the manager of that Hampton Inn had told them he had taken care of everything. And people wonder why business are closing down, that they don't have the customer's that they used to. Two words "CUSTOMER SERVICE".

Business owners, times are tuff and if you don't provide great service to your customer you will lose them.

Hotels

Have you ever stayed in a hotel and things sort of went crazy? Well here's what happened to me this weekend. So our square dance held a federation dance (this is a dance that is held once a quarter around the state) so you normally spend a night at a hotel if your not hosting the dance. So off we go to N. Charleston and I make reservation at a Hampton Inn, a pretty decent place to stay, and the rooms were great, clean. The problem came when taking my shower and washing my hair, well actually when I tried to dry my hair. They have these blow dryers on the wall, I turn mine on and think wow, this just doesn't sound quite right, then smoke starts coming out of it, and I turn it around to look inside when it caught on fire. You want to talk panic, I lost a contact because of a spark that came out of the blow dryer, so I unplug the dryer, and drop it in the sink, called the front desk to inform them, and was told don't worry, I'll get maint. to bring you another dryer. Another dryer, did I miss something, I didn't need another dryer, I bring my own any way, how about live up to your reputation and check out these appliance's you put in rooms, and maybe ask if the guest who paid $100.00 for a room is OK. I wrote to the head office of Hampton Inn and being that they are partners with the Hilton's I thought I would have received a response back. Nothing, no even a thank you for putting out the fire in our hotel. Maybe it's me, I guess I expect to much. Has anything like this ever happened to you? Let me know.
